Online donation systems to garner funding for surgeries

Karuna’s online application, soon to be launched on this website, effectively leverages social media to generate funds for underprivileged patients in need of surgical interventions. This online donation platform is linked with major social networks and offers a transparent avenue for citizens across the globe to sponsor surgeries for patients in need. Surgeries are conducted at the Rural Medicare Center and ICARE Eye Hospital.

Advanced surgeries for needy patients via Poor Patients Fund

Karuna is building a special ‘Poor Patient Fund’ to subsidize the cost of surgical interventions for needy patients. The fund is directly linked with the online donation system and will be utilized exclusively for patients who need surgical procedures that cannot be publicized online for ethical reasons and/or time constraints. All sponsored patients will be screened by us to ensure that their financial need is genuine.

Final testing and payment gateway integration for our Online Surgery Sponsorship System is currently underway. We have delayed the launch of this application by 2-weeks (to November 28, 2011) to proactively address bugs and ensure 100% safety/security for all transactions.
