| Household-level healthcare counseling in villages |
| We train women from target communities as healthcare counsellors to disseminate knowledge on basic healthcare practices to the village community. Our counsellors are assigned households and they conduct periodic counselling sessions, based on customized modules, in each household. They also promote public health programs and monitor the community’s health practices. Starting January 2012, all community health related information collected by our counselors will be posted in our online information management system - helping objectively monior impact. |
| Community awareness sessions and monthly campaigns |
| Karuna organizes weekly community awareness sessions for our target communities at the Karuna Healthcare Center, neighbouring schools and village centres. These sessions are conducted by our visiting consultants and healthcare counsellors. We supplement efforts of public health programs by developing and driving special campaigns on preventive health, disease management and hygiene. |
